5.3 to 5.4 normally indicates an enhancement :D

he meant to say from 5 to 6 is a major version change(which i agree with). but it's all cool people. let's not start a PD on mxit :D

naa i read it on their forums a long time ago. a major change is consitituted by the fact that you jump from v3 to v5. anything else are mere enhancements/updates/bug fixes.

yes but i did say that i wasnt referring to Mxit's definition of "major" .

 was just saying in comparison to the v5.3 update, this one is more major

p.s. major major major major major major major major major major major major major major major major major major

yes. it's ok i get what ur saying. which phones do you guys have btw? i had an old moto v360 a while back and mxit worked really well with that. now with this new moto razr maxx v6, i get dc a lot and it's not the phone, cos when i use other java apps(opera mini), i can suspend for a half an hour and resume it and it works fine. the min i suspend mxit for a minute, i get dc. even when just normally chatting i get dc a lot. it's frustrating cos when i have really interesting conversations with friends i get cut off at the wrong time

I hate mxit for that. Wish it did not rely so much on a stable connection :( would have preferred a database that you just send to and receive from and if your message does not arrive you get the option to resend as it stores the last message in memory instead of dropping the conn like crazy and having to retype.

You Opera uses alot of ram, so delete your browsing history. You should have atleat 1Mb free space on your phone memory also.
Mxit only use gsm it works better.

huh  i'm not complaining about opera. i'm saying i get dc with mxit a lot. mxit worked fine but on the razr maxx v6 it gives me lots of dc's. since opera also uses gprs and i never have any problems with that, the error has to lie in the mxit code.

PS: i always clear my browser cache.

Ye I know. You need ram to run mxit, so even if your signal is strong, if you dont have memory your mxit will dc.

dude my phone has tons of memory. my old phone didn't have this problem so how can a new phone have less memory
the new phone i have has tons of memory.

@merc : go to network settings on ur mobile, change network mode to GSM Only (not dual mode or UMTS)

seems there is a problem (usually on vodacom with prepaid users) whereby connection constantly switches from GSM to 3G

try that and lemme no how it goes ;)

Is Mxit reading it?
When you on Mxit go to, settings, system info. See how much memory you have available.

thanks, but i did that a long time ago and nothing has changed. i changed it to 900/1800 so that the phone would not drain battery power trying to search for 3g coverage. i'm on cell c btw.

yes it reads it, i'll let you know what the totals says sometime, but there are tons of memory available - more than my old phone.
