I haven't been around much lately, but tonight I noticed a few things:

New record:
Most users ever online was 909, 08-05-2006 at 01:38 PM.

Also, MyADSL has surpassed the 10 000 registrations mark:
Threads: 30,349
Posts: 411,385
Members: 10,064

What's also good, is that you've got a lot of peeps posting from overseas - either because they moved over for work (like me), or they are on a working holiday, or they have ties with SA.

I like to visit here, I figured I may stop popping in after a while, but I need my fix of MyADSL - it's a good community and a great percentage of the stuff posted is relevant to anyone anywhere in the world.

One thing I've noticed about what the internet has done for society, is more of a feeling of unity - I can sit here in my flat in this rural english town and it's exactly the same as if I were back in SA - a feeling of continuity.

I like that - being "connected" - I sometimes miss the broadband "struggle" - hmm, only for a few seconds tho - heh. My brother back in SA is still waiting for ADSL installation that should've been done a month ago, so yeah, the connection is still there.

C'mon bb matt - you can say it - you miss us SA. But nice - that feeling of continuity - must make a big difference.

PS. I seem to remember that the record was always posted next to the users online listings (front page) - am I wrong - what happened to it?
