Hi,
I am currently running UnRAID on an HP micro server.
Recently i decided to change my setup to openmediavault with greyhole.
Reasons for that, is that i would like to add more drives and my Unraid license does not allow more then 5 drives, and i also don't require a parity drive and the "greyhole" concept is exactly what i need.
(my photos and music, will have 2 or more copies on different drives, in case of drive failure, and the rest of my data i don't mind losing).
Now, because i already have 5 drives on my HP micro server, i am considering getting a 4TB USB3 drive and use it externally as part of the pool.
I know in theory a USB 3 drive suppose to be very fast , and will not lower the performance of the array.
but i have no idea how it will preform in "real life".
any thoughts ?
