New Nintendo Switch announced - Switch Lite

...why? I don't really care too much about this version, and I hope they release a Pro soon. 1080p screen and RTX architecture please.

Cause I'm not forking out another R8k for a pro version when I just bought the Pika and Eevee one. Then games will only be made to work on the pro version. Ref to N3DS and Xenoblade Cronicles

Lol, I doubt they'll do that for a while. But yeah I bought my Switch around release time 2 years ago, and I'm quite ready to bring on a graphical upgrade.

And with that I can understand. If they bring out a Pro version but games can work on both....eh then I`m happy

Can one of you guys post the specs? I’m having an internet nightmare and can only get Tapatalk working for some reason. No webpages or anything else.

I’m just wondering about the screen, storage, battery life etc.

The screen in the Switch is quite bad for light reflection so I never use it in handheld, Jakarta st keen to see if this is any different or just the same with stuck in joy cons.

I will be getting one for my travels. Perfect size actually. The other handheld was just to big for my taste to carry around.

I was so hyped for this for so long. The fact that it can't be docked to a TV just killed it for me.

Screen is 5.5", 720p, and you can't change the brightness.
Storage and performance are unchanged.
Battery life is 30 minutes longer.
No HD Rumble, no IR camera. Still has gyroscopes for motion controls. Still has NFC and bluetooth. I think that's about it.

Why don't you just get a normal Switch?

Some more news... seems the regular Switch is getting an upgrade on the internals. No idea if this will make it any faster.

I don't want to get the old Switch, because it's outdated at this stage. I'm looking for a current Gen console.
I was waiting for news about the Lite and Pro edition, but hoping that the Lite would at least be able to dock, which it doesn't.
The problem with the upgraded Switch is you wouldn't know if you bought an upgraded one or not.

Thanks. I came right in the end. There’s some nice info on the other thread too

Ah crap. See it is only released 20 September. Going to Japan beginning of September.

Will still get a normal Switch there, though.

But if the thing only plays the hand held only games, which does mean there are some that won't be compatible, shouldn't they just call this something else? Like it's like a Switch but isn't.
