New PC advice...

Eish, just as i was talking about PSU's I think mine has died

PC was on when I left home, off when i got back. Turned it on but the monitor didn't turn on & couldn't hear the hard drives spin either, even the cathodes were dim, the only thing i could hear was the case fans.

Specs: AthlonX2 3800+, Gigabyte K8N-SLI, Corsair 2GB, 7900gt, 2 HDD, 1 DVD on a Thermaltake PurePower 480w

help anyone?

Heard bad things about thermaltake psu's. Not that thats going to help you much at this stage. Try and get another psu from a friend and test to say if the system will boot then. If it does it's psu.

think the 500w and 700w Aopen are fortron sourced.....

The 450W is also fortron sourced I heard, I have one and its great for overclocking and everything.

Anyway, the PSU calculator website I use says that system will use around 300W so a 450W is enough.

You got a price for the 450W?
