New PC Build - help please

Should do - it does 1920x1080. :p ;) But rather look at 6450 and up though since they are a fair bit faster for a small price increase. The 6450 Flex is ideal if you don't want D-Sub/VGA.
Looks promising indeed. And will save me a few bucks as well :)

Ya you want FHD for PC work/use. For series/movies it's no problem having HDR, especially if you're sitting at a distance. Unless you have tons of FHD content and sit 1m from the screen to benefit from the increased perceivable detail, FHD LCD isn't necessary for movies/series.

Doubt you'll find a T260. :)

Be happy they're all Samsung's... :D

So, essentially, if I use my current 32", it will only be good for watching things or looking at pictures? And if I want to use it as an actual PC monitor, it will be no good?

This 27" Sammie might be a better bet for a third screen, then. Same black/red colouring as the T260s.

I don't have to upgrade the 32" to something bigger right now...

You have 1366x768 pixels (HD Ready). FHD has 1920x1080 pixels. PC work involves sharp text and maximum real estate. You work it out. ;)

32" LCD TV will be miles ahead in terms of picture quality (TN vs IPS panel - Wiki) for cheaper. 27" PC LCD offers poor value. Forget about matching, only gonna make your life harder.

Sigh. I hear ya.

And no one has a T260 with which they wish to part, it seems.

That's why you shouldn't. ;)

Decent HD/FHD projectors are at least R20k new. Not sure how good a cheaper HD one would be, I know Mike Smit uses like a R5k one but projectors aren't my forte I'm afaid.

Remember, a 32" HD Ready is absolutely fine, unless you're sitting close and relying on FHD. Decide whether you are going to be using it as a PC monitor or just a 3rd screen for general movies/series.

Indeed.

The 32" ready one would be fine for that kind of third monitor, I am sure.

Now I am just thinking how best to replace it as the TV in the lounge.

My mate had a fairly basic projector set up in his lounge, think it was an Acer, definitely not top-of-the-range, and the picture took up an entire wall and looked pretty good...
