New PC help and recommendations

Just make sure that you buy the same RAM modules, or at the very least the same size, voltage and timings.

I agree with Pada in going for the full 12GB if you can scrape the funds together.

Best to buy matched sets of RAM (they are tested together to ensure they work together, before being packaged). RAM prices are also low at the moment, so it's a good time to buy.

Will do so. thanks.

Anyway, Nicko, sorry about my previous post if it was a bit harsh.
I might be wrong about that MSI X58A-GD65 motherboard's PCI-e 16x @ 16x slot placements. It could be the same as the Gigabyte X58A-UD3R one. Here you can see an overview of the Gigabyte X58A-UD3R motherboard's PCIe x16 @ 16x and 8x arrangement.

No problem, I gotta admit though, I didn't know about the MSI X58A-GD65 and upon review its a close match up between that and the Gigabyte X58A-UD3R. I personally will go for the gigabyte, but I have quite a large budget. For someone who has a tighter budget the MSI is still a excellent option.

Here are the reviews of the MB.
