Hi there.

I havent bought a new pc in about 4 years and I am so clued out on what is good, what is bad and all that. I am looking at the below build...is it decent? (as in will I be running most new games at full graphics?)

Motherboard: MSI Intel Z97 Gaming 5 Z97 Chipset
Processor: Core i-5-4690K
Gfx Card: MSI Geforce GTX 970
Hdd: WD Velociraptor WD1000DHTZ 1TB 3.5″ SATA Hard Drive
Ram: 1600mhz (8 gigs in total)

Any advise would be great.

Uhm...noob question, what is an ssd?

I am not sure if I will overclock...last time I did it, lets just say things melted.

In that case I guess you are not going to overclock ;) SSD is a solid sate harddrive, read veeeery fast.

I would not go with the Z97 mobo and the 4690k if you are not overclocking. Rather look at a H97 motherboard and a plain 4690

I might overclock if I can do it without melting my brand new expensive as all fk pc :D

I am getting a new box as well, Coolermaster Storm Trooper...or should I get some additional cooling?

Rebeltech is selling that mobo, cpu and galax 970 as combo. I reckon it's a good deal, about R10K.

Edit: On your case selection, the Corsair 760t is a beautiful case . Can't wait for mine to arrive.
