Ok, so im buying a new pc, but have a few concerns regarding fitment.

So before i spend money on the wrong cooler because of a silly fitment issue, i thought it would be best to ask.

Chassis : Coolermaster HAF-X
MB : Asus rampage 3 extreme
RAM : Corsair Dominator GT
CPU Cooler : Coolermaster V6GT
GFX : Sapphire HD 5970

Possible problems:
1) If i install the Coolermaster V6GT, will there be space to install the Airflow Fan on the Dominator GT ram ? (Also if i am able, will the airflow fan block airflow into the V6GT)
2) If i install the Coolermaster V6GT, will there be space for me to install the Sapphire Hd 5970 in the pci-e slot closest to cpu (top slot) ?

Thnx

have a look at the link (review). The guy has installed a V6GT on a asus formula MB. If you take a close look at his pictures, he isn't able to
install ram into the 1st slot(closest to cpu) because the cooler is in the way. Also the height of the ram just fits under the cooler. so installing the
airflow fan will be a problem ?

i am however getting the asus rampage 3 extreme ( http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=jy0uafxYBCrJwksC&templete=2 )

Pada, i did look at those coolers. H50 and H70. however there is a problem that every1 is complaining about. you have to install it by the exhaust
fan section of your chassis. when installing it there and because of the design, the fan blows air into the box at your back
exaust outlet. so you are left will all fans blowing air into the box and nothing out the back.

WeoKill, you can just turn the fan(s) around so that it would act as an exhaust and not for air intake...
here you can see that the 1x intake and the 1x exhaust setups give the same results.

It will be a VERY tight fit if you won't be installing a RAM module in the DRAM slot closest to the CPU!
See the image that I've added dimensions to: http://media.z3.zoopy.com/media/2010/09/19/34317/235892/original.jpg
The V6GT's width is 120mm, so it's 60mm that is required from the center of the CPU to the RAM.

I have an Asus P6T Deluxe v2 motherboard with ThermalRight Ultra 120 Extreme + CM Sickleflow fan (110mm width with push/pull setup)
and there is about 1/2x DRAM slot's space between the fan and the 1st DRAM slot. See image of my case.
The space between my CPU and the RAM is at least 1x DRAM slot's space more than your R3E board.

So ja, I think you'll be taking a fat chance if you want to install the V6GT and Corsair Dominator GT with the RAM cooler, since the RAM cooler is wider than the RAM modules AFAIK.

Shot for the help Pada.

I won't be able to use the V6GT at all. Managed to find a site somewhere, where it showed the combo isn't possible. pity really.

I did however find a site that showed a nice mod to the Corsair H50. The guy added an extra fan to the radiator, creating a pull/push effect like H70, and swapped them both around
to create an exhaust system. He said he did it like that because the radiator on the H50 was smaller than the radiator on the H70 allowing a lot more space, and for some reason it performed way
better than H70!!!!! They also did a test vs the V10 and showed that it was a lot colder than V10 at stock (15 deg celcius if not mistaken) and 5 degrees colder at max overclock, which is
apparently brilliant seeing that V10 is 1 of the best overclocking coolers.

So i'll probably be doing the same :-)

Just be very careful with picking of 120mm fans, because if you pick the wrong ones it might be VERY loud!

Like the CM Sickleflows 120mm fans are way more than 19dBA like they specify. I'm running mine on +7V instead of +12V just to keep the noise down :(

On that note its high time that someone in SA starts stocking Scythe GentleTyphoons. Those things are crazy silent and still push a whole lot of air.

ye cool pada. im gonna try see if i can get 2 excalibur CM fans. they are ball bearing fans and super quiet. friend installed 1 in his pc, was so quiet he thought it wasn't on and stuck his finger in :D

shot again for the help
