I need quote for a system as follows:

i5-2600k & Aftermarket CPU Cooler
8Gb RAM - G.Skill preferred
5XX Series GFX
1 Tb HDD - WD preferred
180Gb SSD - OCZ preferred
Min. 22" Monitor - Phillips/LG preferred
ATX Mobo (NOT m-ATX) - Asus preferred
DVD-RW or BD
Windows 7 Professional
Gaming Keyboard - Razer preferred
Gaming Mouse - Razer preferred
Chassis incl. relevant cooling - Coolermaster HAF series preferred
750W PSU

Note that I have indicated where a specific manufacturer/model is preferred, it won't be a deal-breaker if the specific component is from the preferred manufacturer, provided the alternative recommendation is better for whatever reason. The only non-negotiable items are the CPU (Intel) and GPU (Nvidia).

Ideally would rather source this from one supplier (assembled/components, doesn't matter), will collect if in Gauteng, otherwise please include relevant delivery charges.

Budget?
Would be just a guide line.

Uhm... You probably mean a i7 2600k right?

When i built my PC a few days ago, I intitally started by going to a few online shops and creating a shopping list with the cart ffunction. I compared between all the shops and Rebeltech.co.za were the cheapest.

I've had great service from them every single time so i would recommend them...and overall, their normal prices are cheaper than most online shops.

Word of advice, stay away from Rampage Gaming. Worst service ever.

Nice set up there btw

Hi Bismuth,

I'd like to assist you with a quote for your new sexy rig :p . First, I'd just like to know a few things that would assist me in better tailoring a quote for your needs.

1. Do you have a specific budget in mind for the whole rig?
2. Which 5-series nVidia cards are you currently considering? Any particular budget on just the graphics card? Any particular manufacturer that you prefer on the card (MSI, ASUS, etc)?
3. Any particular requirements for the CPU cooler, or budget in mind? Air-cooling or watercooling?

Currently, I'm not aware of any 180GB SSDs that are available locally, that are based on the latest SandForce SF-2281 controller. There is a 180GB Corsair Force GT SSD based on SF-2281, which is listed by one of our suppliers, but it's indicated as arriving on 19 October in SA (estimated date of arrival). In this case, would the 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 be suitable as an alternative for you? There's also the 240GB OCZ Vertex 3, if you're looking for extra capacity.

We can also provide a full assembly, stress-testing and Windows installation, which would give you the peace-of-mind knowing the full-machine has been verified as fully-functioning and error-free before it's shipped to you.

I can post back here with a best-recommendation based on your feedback and can send a full-quotation, if you could please provide me with your email address, name, contact telephone number and delivery address via PM.

Sorry for lack of certain details:

10-12k budget
i5-2500k, not i7, doh to me! :D

Will drop SSD and to 4-series Nvidia if 5-series too big for budget!

If SSD dropped, increase HDD to 2Tb!

Hey Bismuth,

Ok, I've got a general setup to start with, that we could look at refining, based on your feedback. First up, I've got a general recommendation (to fit within your budget):

SONY AD7260S 24x SATA DVD-Writer Black - OEM

QTY: 1 Price (Each): R159.00 Incl. VAT Price (All): R159.00 Incl. VAT

Microsoft DSP Windows 7 Professional - 64bit
Estimated Stock Level: In stock with Supplier
QTY: 1 Price (Each): R1335.00 Incl. VAT Price (All): R1335.00 Incl. VAT

TOTAL: R10444.00 incl. VAT (excl. delivery)

Peripherals and the chassis are very personal choices. I can recommend some good parts based on their specifications, but ultimately you may have different aesthetic tastes and requirements, so I'd rather give you some options that you could look at:

Razer Keyboards
Razer Mouse
CoolerMaster HAF Series Chassis (must apologise for the lack of pics on 3 of those chassis, we're working on adding those)

Then, there's the other nice to have parts, but that will blow past the budget:

OCZ 120GB Vertex 3 Series SATA III 2.5" SSD - Retail
Estimated Stock Level: In stock with Supplier
QTY: 1 Price (Each): R2339.00 Incl. VAT Price (All): R2339.00 Incl. VAT

Cogage TRUE Spirit-LGA 775/1156/1155 120mm PWM CPU Cooler
Estimated Stock Level: In stock with Wootware
QTY: 1 Price (Each): R329.00 Incl. VAT Price (All): R329.00 Incl. VAT

Since you mentioned assembly, we'd be able to fully-assemble and stress-test your machine in order to verify that the full machine functions at its rated specs, without error for R300.00 incl. VAT.

If you aren't going for the SSD right now, I'd still recommend getting a fast 7200RPM 1TB drive for the OS (like the WD Caviar Black above), if you want the 2TB, the cheaper units are only 5,200/5,400RPM or variable RPM drives. May or may not be a big deal to you, but in general you'll certainly want the fastest drive possible for the OS.

We'd be more than willing to further assist you through this thread, PM or through our support email.
