I'm looking for a new phone but I have a weird wishlist and was wondering if some of you could maybe give me some recommendations. I've been spending way too much time on my phone lately and was hoping if I can get a lame phone it would discourage me from sitting on the crapper for hours looking at pics of cats. I want to use my phone for Calls, Whatsapp and the occasional Googling.

1) It has to be small (4"or less)
2) It has to have a crappy screen so the viewing experience isn't enjoyable at all
3) Decent battery life
4) Good build quality and reliable

Saw an ad for a iPhone 3gs the other day. Should do it

Smart kicka phone from Pep stores .

Yes! That looks great. It's sure to induce nausea and existential dread every time I want to use my phone.

Will this work with a Telkom sim card? Are these Vodacom phones operator locked or something?

iPhone SE. 4 inch screen with okay quality with good camera. Performance and specs are still really good.

It will work with any sim . Put it in and you are good to go

Why on earth would you want a crappy screen?

The rest I can understand and then I would say iPhone SE.

If the screen sucks I'd be less inclined to spend time on my phone reading/looking at stuff. I tried to control the habit, but the minute I get even slightly bored I grab my phone and read random junk.

Just keep your current phone and work on evolving the operator. Much cheaper. And long-term benefits.

Hahaha. I'm a behaviourist at heart. Change the environment: change the behaviour.

Besides, I actually need a new phone as my current phone is almost 4 years old and is starting to give me trouble.

Doubt the quality of screen will help with that becuase the content is the same.

The smaller screen would dissuade it though.

I do understand the problem though.

Also read that turning your screen to grayscale helps with using it less often.

That is quite intriguing. I'd love to test this out, but my phone has no grayscale option (Xperia Z3 Kitkat 4.4.4). :(
