New phone question

I'd say the S3 Mini because it has the fastest chipset. 710 is outdated but if you could get the 720 it would be also a great option.
 
the s3 mini is R70 more on my contract. is there a lot of apps for windows mobile?

The Lumia 710 is WP 7.5 (soon 7.8). It will never get WP 8. So any app that is ever developed for WP 8 will not see the light of day on the 710. It is just not a very good choice at the moment. There are enough apps to get by with but you're missing some very key ones, and you will find that developer support dries up very quickly as 7.8 recedes into the rearview mirror. Go for a WP8 phone by all means, or a decent Android, but avoid 7.5 at this point.

Not 100% accurate. Basically any app that use API's not covered in 7.8 will not be available for that phone. There is not a lot of them and most cover hardware specific access like camera or so on, for the rest you can run em on 7.8 no hassles.

That said I would still say rather go for a WP8 instead of 7.8, not because of apps but more because of future support, say for example 8.1 comes out end of the year with loads of new features, there is no guarantee that 7.8 will get em, in fact I have a feeling the only updates you will get on it from now on is security updates and that is it.

So to OP, if apps is your main target go Android, if you want a all round smooth experience and not bothered about the lack of apps check out WP8 instead.
 
How about the HTC Desire X? Cheaper than the s3 mini for roughly the same specs...
 
i'm also stuck between the mini & lumia 710 but now the BB 9790 is in the mix. Decisions decisions...
