And yes, as much I dislike VWs, I actually did look and want a Polo GTI before buying my RunX. I even emailed VWSA who replied with a 'we no plans to bring this here'.

With VW's strive to push their cars a bit more upmarket, I won't be surprised to find the multifunction steering wheel as standard on anything but the base-spec vehicle. Even the trim quality inside should be lightyears ahead of what the current Polo offers. I might even consider this as a second city-runabout if that claim of 3.3l / 100km turns out to be true!

It's sad. Looking at this thread, the Bluemotion is the Polo in the range that most people seem to want, but guaranteed VWSA will NOT bring it here.

I wouldnt buy one, but I do think it fills a growing gap in the market better than any other manufacturer.
