New posts on international forums

Forums that I used to read in the US on different sites now don't correctly show the new post indicators.

Is it something to do with how Telkom provides ADSL and the proxy that I have heard about?

Is there a solution?

For example a forum main page shows new posts then I go into a forum and there are no new posts then the main page also resets and shows no new posts.

I think it is proxy issue but not something I have had to deal with before - I just had a direct bridged net connect in the US.

I added cache.saix.co.za port 8080 into FF proxy settings and it seems to have improved it with a small bit of testing.
