Hi All

I recently switch from a 4mb line (with high attenuation and low SNR) to a 2mb line

After having speed issues for the last 24 hours these are now my figures

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2048 kbps 512 kbps
Line Attenuation 6.0 db 2.5 db
Noise Margin 30.3 db 30.0 db

I am fairly close to my exchange, what could cause this?

Don't you mean low attenuation & high SNR? Attenuation only changes if your copper between your house & Telkom is shortened
Line attenuation of 6.0 is amazing! you should be able to get 8mbps with no problem, who is your ISP & please post a speedtest.net result

Ah, I got the values the wrong way around lol. So all good.

Telkom is my ISP, getting very average speeds except for the last 2 days (which has apparently been fixed now)
