Ok so I'm getting a new PC and have come to a stumbling block - the PSU. Basically I don't know which one to get :/ The specs of the new system are as follows -

GTX460
i5 2400
Asus P8P67-M PRO LGA1155 DDR3
Haf 922
3x 1 TB HDD's
23" LCD

Now the 3 that have been recommended are all Corsair - the GS600, the GS700 and the TI650. I'm leaning towards the GS600 but if anyone can give their opinion or give other suggestions, that is exactly what I'm looking for.

Just don't know about it hey, I'm clueless so fill me in on price and stuff ...... and link me :D

I paid +-1200 from Frontosa. On phone so no link.

Also picked up the new seagate 3TB 7200rpm sata 6G 64mb cache for 2.1k+- iirc if that would interest you at all.

And then ssd for OS :P

+1 for HX650. Really nice modular PSU. I also got it for around 1.2k from Libertas Computers. They're on this forum if you want to pm them for a quote or e-amil them on [email protected]. (Think username = LibertasPC)

I vote for Corsair TX750. Not modular, but a little cheaper for the fact and able to pull 900w according to some reviews.

If you're not going for SLI, then you seriously don't need more than a 500W PSU, seeing that a decent 400W one should be able to run your system.

I really don't know why you don't go for like the Asus P8P67-M (non Pro), i5 2500k CPU...

@ Pada - I had heard "get an Asus P8P" and just assumed it was the one being spoken about. Like I said, I make these threads to get input on other products (read: corrected) :)

@everyone else - thanks for the input, I'll stick around the 600W range for now then, hopefully Corsair is a good brand. Spending R1200 odd on a PSU is just too wtf for me, lol but thanks for all the feedback.

So now I'm hearing that a uATX mobo (like the Asus P8P I wanna get) is not a good idea and to rather get an ATX one. Problem is they seem to be either meh or more expensive. Input on uATX over ATX?

+1 for the Corsair - v/good PSU's and the TX650W should be fine. Prophecy are a bit more, but out of stock. Frontosa has them is you have a reseller account connection.

Why is getting an uATX motherboard not a good idea? The only drawback that I know of is that you don't have that many PCI-E expansion slots as an ATX motherboard.

Just get a 500W PSU. That way you'll save a lot on the PSU, which you can spend on a better CPU again...

I have been using A Cooler Master 600W Silent Pro M for the last 3 yrs, have had no problems with it. I kept it for my current build (upgraded 3 weeks ago). Also have the Asus P8P67 Pro with the 2600K. Just using a power hungry older GTX280. Also running 3 X HDD's and its in a HAF 932 which has 3 fans (2 big ass ones). Also using a CM V6GT CPU Cooler.

CM SilentPro is also good quality (from what I can tell). Modular interface is very good. Also have one of those CM 600W SilentPro.

I am speaking as a PSU noob here but this is how it came across. But then again I think they are priced on par with Corsair's HX range?

The Corsair CX and GS ones have 3 year warranty.
The Tx has 5 year warranty
The HX and AX have 7 year warranty

awesome, so it's basically the PC I'm getting bar the case model, cpu model, gfx card and cooler

TX is like 2 - 5% more expensive than the GS, more efficient, and has a 2 year longer warranty. Go TX over GS. 650watt is more than enough.
