Probably spot on the only job the techie did this day or maybe even this week.
 
I applied for my home adsl and was also dreading the wait having browsed these forums - i anticipated some sort of two month wait. Took three days.
Line was working like a bomb but then I couldnt connect - called Telkom who was very helpful and called me back three times in less than two hours with assistance.
Said they had to send a techie in,(I expected this would take at least three days) who came round the very next day - Sunday I might add!
As it turned out it wasnt a fault with Telkom, but my ISP (seperate from Telkom).
I must say, I have had only an excellent experience!!
Strange but true!!

Never had a problem in JHB with my ADSL from installation till the time I moved. Cape Town I have had nothing but headaches!

Negatory! I'm just as flummoxed as you are.

Datura - I stay in CT too - makes it even wierder.

BTW just finished reading Koontz's new offering - Forever Odd - a character named Datura in there - your inspiration perhaps?

I also just finished reading Forever Thomas as the follow up to Odd Thomas. I love Koontz's style of writing, especially the way he describes everything in such detail, that you can actually imagine what he is writing about.

Did you notice on the back cover that there is a two book Dracula series coming soon. Each one written by Koontz and another author? Can't wait :D

I just got my first adsl bill today and it was a pleasant surprise that it was correct!

They didnt charge me for the self-installation - which i though i would have to fight with them over.

The bill was just right 100%

Telkom is waking up! that's a good sign! Maybe they know something we dont about the new telecom company.

This wasn't a self-install was it? What's not so sweet is paying R437.50... :eek:
