Hi guys, planning upon with a new rigg.
My pc has its limits now with games i'm playing and O.S since installed prior 4years now.
I have an intel q6600 , dg33fb intel motherboard , single 4850gpu-512mem, 3gig ram, 22inch samsung syncmaster lcd 500gig sg and 1.5 terra wd.
i have done a number of research online but i am still unsure of certain hardware.
OK , i am not one to overclock and would prefer to have my hardware for a longer period of time.
So then i do not have the cash yet but i am looking upon how much i can spend.
Only willing to spend upon what i need as a gamer for smooth gaming resoultion {1680x1050}with things as high.(mostly been playing with medium settings and Battlefield 3 on low...lol)
Ok so i am interested in only the new tech, pci express 3.0 and ivy bridge(no amd apu).
I saw there are various versions of the i5 ivybridge normal and overclocked multipler and as well as the lower power ones. seeing that im not one that would overclock which should i go for?and would i3 be instead a better option as budget too?
another note i know z77 boards are premiums with features and h77 more suited with media centric(no overclock) and that but which market are the b75 chipset target at??? they are priced cheaper i do see one pci 3.0 epxress lane which is ok for me.
Next is the gpu....did some research upon the on 7770 which now i know aint that great for gaming for me....looking instead at the amd7850 or price is right 7870...nvidia 670 too pricey for now...so i am waiting for the price of 660. heard it has same specs as 670 but bit-rate 190-something if i heard correctly.
so then i need some good advice.
thankyou.

Budget?

So I take it you need the following:

What Case do you have?
PSU? (Tell us what PSU you have)
Motherboard
CPU
Ram
GPU

How about the following?

Motherboard: R1,184
ASRock Z77 PRO3, all-in-one LGA1155

CPU: R1,916
Intel Core i5 3470, 3.2GHz, LGA1155

I have the raidmax dirk tooth which i think will be keeping...
currently have a 500watt coolermaster.
New power supply i would be needing yes
yes i guess it would be budget, not alot of spending upon what i can dish out.
Never knew the price of i5 3470 would be costing that much lol.
ram i'm willing to gor for 8gigs in my rig.
i have never had an asrock before so i really not sure how they are , was looking at asus and gigabyte boards mostly

I see upon reviews its a good board with all z77 features with for 1000 odd.
i need more options and aswell how does the b75 chipset stands?

The B75 chipsets are designed for business use. Like H77 it lacks overclocking abilities of any kind but retains the important features like Intel's RST, USB 3.0 front-panel connectors, PCI-Express 3.0 and also has optional software/hardware for use in a managed network environment (remote control of hardware, shutting down PCs with a LAN signal, that sort of thing). For the most part its a no-frills chipset if you don't want to dabble with H61 because its too low-budget.

If you're looking for a ballpark figure to work on, I'd suggest aiming for this as a starting point:

Intel Core i3 2120 @ R1204
Gigabyte B75M-D3H @ R838
Corsair Vengeance Black DDR3-1600 8GB @ R540
KFA[SUP]2[/SUP] Geforce GTX560 1GB DDR5 @ R1767
Antec One S3 @ R508 (to take advantage of USB 3.0)
Cooler Master GX450w @ R598

Total: R5455

That's an entirely new rig that will outperform yours quite nicely. R5500 is a nice figure, I feel, because you can keep the motherboard, the RAM and the chassis the same while upgrading things in other areas as you need to. If you want, you can shove in a Core i5 3470 for those games that favour a faster processor. The GTX650Ti, coming out sometime in September, will be faster than the GTX560 here and would have the same power connectors, but you could also squeeze in a Radeon HD7850 if you wanted on the same power supply. A quad-core and a HD7850 is the limit of what I'd be comfortable with, so if you're looking for something more powerful then a larger PSU becomes necessary. Note that with most rigs a 600w PSU is all you need and may even outlast your builds by several years if its a good unit.

If you're concerned about performance especially in all areas of the OS and in things like level load times, it may be worth using your 500GB drive as secondary storage to supplement a decent 128GB SSD, which makes all the difference in the world, especially coming from older hardware.

thank you very much for all tha tlow down nag wesley.
i can now look more into it and yes i might go for that rig lol.
thanx again very helpfull am kinda future proofing too lol.
