New Router and Wonky Wi-Fi

Hi,

I am new to the broadband posting thread members. So I apologise in advance for my lack of knowledge. I have some issues with my Huawei HG532f router which was received from Telkom with our initial ADSL setup... no fibre in our area yet.
The Internet on Ethernet works fine but the WiFi goes dead and then I have to reset the router approximately 5 - 10 times a day... What's with that? I work from home, so it's really annoying. My boss suggested that we might need to purchase a new router, was considering the ASUS DL-AC52U. What is bothering us is how this will affect a call out on breakdowns. Do the ISP's give issues if you have a different router to what was offered with installation?

You can use any router you like - network locking of routers is no longer a thing, or legal, any more. The router was a freebie as part of a contract? If it's indeed faulty, place it on your driveway and drive over it a few times. Then pack it all up into the original box and return it to Telkom for a free replacement.

For adsl connections u can use any "modem routers". Buy a tplink or a Netgear or any router.
Also I have seen a lot of 2nd hand adsl routers for sale on carbonite for cheap. U can buy them if u just want to try.
