"New SAA" - What will be different

The South African government is considering a business model which would see South African Airways (SAA) winded down and replaced with a new state-owned airline.

Speaking to the City Press, public enterprises spokesperson Richard Mantu said the department was looking at how this new national carrier could remain competitive and offer safe and high-quality service.

Even a dead cat can bounce.

still wont fly national carrier.
people will still vote with their wallets.
The mere fact that they say the new airline will BEE a job creator is scary.
they already have too many employees.

DIE ALREADY.

What will be different is that there will be some new piggies at the trough
Some yes, but most of the big piggies will still dominate and want more and more, and eventually get replaced, when they get too fat and cant share all the gravy, and then the stronger pigs have grown and shove them out. Around and around, circle of gravy-train-SOE-employment-agencie's life.
CLOSE them, DO NOT recycle.

Will this new entity be created before SAA is completely dead? What's the bet that they buy these aircraft for inflated prices form SAA?

Doesn't SAA lease all their aircraft, hence a proposed asset sale from the current liquidation being minimal cash inflow.
