PLEASE Help! I just bought two new cellphones and not one of then can pick up any signal around my house. A Samsung J4 core and a Samsung A10 The A10 did not work once in two days of trying! BUT! My cheap Mobicalls both work pretty well!
I want to buy a repeater or a signal booster.
I searched all over but can not get any answer good enough for me! Our tower is 50Km away on a high mountain.
We live very low next to the river. I find a spot here I get two lines of signal, and I can hear the other party well. BUT! They can not hear me. I often say to them!
You are standing on a mountain with a 10 Kw transmitter and I am standing down at the river, with a 20 Milliwatt sender. I can hear you you can not hear me!
AM I CORRECT???
I have a very high house. On the top floor is a small window from where I can see the tower on a clear day.
Here my Mobicells get a 4 bar signal, but the brand new expensive Samsungs get nothing or sometimes one bar which goes away before you can try to use it. So much for background!
My question is:
I put the receiving antenna (a yagi) on my satellite mast above my roof.
I get 4 bars signal.
I put it into the amplifier and out to the dome antenna which gives my whole house full signal.

Q1) Will all 3 the service providers be picked up and be resent??
Q2) NOW! I can hear any person clearly.
My problem was that my tiny little hand held transmitter does not have the power to get my transmission to the top of the mountain.
Should I not put the dome antenna towards my phone, connect it to the booster input, and connect the yagi to the output of the amplifier??? That way I can see it solving my problem.
Can you l help please???

That's a very bold assertion
Unfortunately TRUE!
During 48 hours of trying I could not make one single call or even dial. Most times it jut said : Not registered on network.
I took photos Have to download them first.

Try changing the network connectivity to GSM only, not 3G (W-CDMA). It is likely that this may explain the difference in signal strength and availability.

Thanks, Big help! Will try that. I had a J4 last year and it was not that bad!!!!!

Thanks, option auto, 2g or 3g, I tried 2g, still only get the no stopping traffic sign. not one bar.

I assume you are using MTN. If only they had Wifi calling you would have full signal through your wifi connection. Cell C and Vodacom have it but only on certain phones. A10 should have it on Voda and Cell C

Yes, Only traces of MTN here. No Vodacom, cell c or telkom. We have a dish on the roof for LAN.
I saw a antenna quality list, and the A20 is pretty high on the list. Shall I try one?? A bit over my SASSA budget! The J4 or A10 is not in the top 50!

Don't think the A20 will solve your issue. The A10 support voWiFi on Cell C. Get a prepaid Cell C sim for R1 and test it out. If you need help with the setup give me a shout and I will try and assist
