How much simpler can a fuel levy be vs gantries?

Motorists across the province were waiting for just these empty promises. What a relief.

So there will be discounts for the low and middle income commuters while the wealthy and businesses must subsidize the cost?
That flies in the face of the equitable "user pays" principle the government and SANRAL keep on harping about.
No thank you - I already pay more than my fair share of tax for all the freeloaders and government officials to squander.

Scrap the e-tolls and ring fence a fuel levy so that everyone contributes and I will be more than happy to pay.

In any case, the last etoll accounts/firelighters I received were from October. Been quiet since.

Same here. Not a peep since October last year.

If they want to provide financial relief, then they must trim Cabinet's expenses, rein in state spending, and sell off Eskom, SAA and the GPO....
