I recently bought one of these as a run around mainly for work and back. A 1 yr old forfour model. Cracking little car for what it is i.e. a city car. Awesome JBL sound system, pano roof, forward collision warning, PDC, sport pack (that's was a huge LOL) and some other stuff. The car has almost no power and torque though (relatively to anything 
but is fun to drive in a weird non power way. It is also comfortable, zero highjack risk and cheap to insure. Best part is that is extremely light on fuel. Being a boutique car I know resale is bad but I will keep it for a while. Got it at a good price saving 80k on the new price. Cherry on the top though was that I bought it from a Merc dealer and the sales and delivery process was awesome, felt like I was buying an AMG GT.

Smart launches new £9995 entry-level Pure model
Entry-level Pure-trim cars get steel wheels and basic kit; cuts the base price of the Smart Fortwo by £1375
The Smart Fortwo and Forfour Pure models have been launched, priced at £9995 and £10,490 respectively.
Pure is now the most basic trim available, creating a new entry point in the Smart line-up.
The cars get electric windows, remote locking, and a height adjustable steering wheel and driver’s seat.
Confusingly, Pure also gets electrically adjustable and heated wing mirrors as standard; previously these weren’t standard until the £12,215 Passion Premium Fortwo, and are otherwise a £295 option on all specs but those with Premium in the name.
This is because the Pure is a newer model, said a Smart spokesman, and that the brand will be making this feature standard across the Smart range in due course.
Cloth seats and 15in steel wheels are also fitted, as are halogen headlights, although the cars retain their LED daytime running lights. Mechanically, Pure-spec cars are no different to higher-spec Smarts, though.
Previously, the entry to Smart ownership was the £11,370 Fortwo Passion, but the Fortwo Pure cuts £1375 from this. For the Forfour, it was previously £11,865, with Pure undercutting the Passion-spec Forfour by the same amount.

Electric car goes up in flames while charging
A brand new electric car was destroyed in a fire on Sunday after being left charging overnight. Fire crews blamed an electrical fault for the blaze, which reduced the Smart ForTwo Electric Drive car to a blackened shell.
The car had been left outside an office block in Wickford, Essex, and despite the ferocious fire its cable was still connected to the melted wall charger. Fire crews had to ventilate the office block, which had become smoke logged.
Almost 50,000 electric or hybrid cars were sold in Britain in 2016, and one in every 30 cars sold is now powered by electricity. Fires have so far proved rare, although some experts argue that this could be due to the relatively small numbers on the road compared to petrol and diesel vehicles.
Many are powered by lithium-ion batteries, which are also one of the most popular types of rechargeable batteries and used in many cellphones. But they can sometimes explode and catch fire when overheated - as was the case for Samsung’s notorious Galaxy Note 7 phone, which was banned by airlines and which the company was eventually forced to recall at a cost of billions.
Lithium-ion batteries contain two electrodes - one made from lithium and one from carbon - submerged in a liquid called an electrolyte that lets electrical charges flow between the electrodes. If a battery is charged too quickly, it can cause metal-like whiskers called dendrites to form and pass through the liquid electrolytes, resulting in a short circuit that can lead to explosions and fires.
On Sunday night a spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said the car was well alight when crews arrived.
"An electric car which was left on charge outside an office building has been 100 percent destroyed," he said, "and caused smoke damage to a building after catching alight. The cause of the fire has been recorded as accidental, and was due to an electrical fault."

Brabus reveals angry little 125R Smart ForTwo Cabriolet
The folks over at Brabus may spend much of their time fettling Mercedes-Benz products, but that doesn’t mean they’re averse to tuning the little Smart ForTwo. Yes, this is the Brabus 125R, a modified topless Smart that gains more power, updated handling and a sporty redesign, both inside and out.
The 900 cc turbo-triple’s peak outputs have been hiked from the standard 52 kW and 91 N.m to 92 kW and 200 N.m. As a result, it’s apparently able to achieve a 0-100 km/h time of 9,2 seconds before topping out at an electronically limited 175 km/h.
This increase in oomph was achieved thanks to the installation of a modified intake system, a more efficient intercooler and a recalibrated engine control unit. A stainless steel sports exhaust with three (yes, three) tailpipes has also been added for a more dramatic sound (which can be altered via controllable flaps).
The 125R gains a set of 16-inch front and 17-inch rear Brabus Monoblock IX alloys, wrapped in high-performance Yokohama tyres. Handling is further improved by a tweaked suspension, lowering the ride height by 30 mm.
As you can see, the 125R also gains a body kit from Brabus. This comprises a front spoiler, rocker panels and surround for the tailpipes, as well as carbon-design covers for the side-mirrors (and a tinted third brake light).
The cabin has also been given the Brabus touch with contoured sports seats upholstered in diamond-quilted black Masik leather (with contrasting red stitching). The steering wheel has been trimmed in leather with perforated grips and a microfibre 12-o’clock positioning strip. Other elements inside include a red Brabus logo on the gear selector and a carbon-design moulding for the dashboard.
Only 125 units of the 125R will be produced, each priced at €39 900 (that’s about R633 000).

The 2002 Crossblade was a minimalist machine with no doors, roof or windscreen. While conceived as a show car, following a positive reception it was put into limited production, with 2000 unites produced.
The Forspeed, shown in 2011, was another open-top concept that previewed Smart’s electric drive system. As with the Crossblade, it also featured a wind deflector – shaped to mimic an aircraft propeller – in place of a windscreen.
