Is it? Never broken the law? Never took your car 5km faster than allowed or downloaded an mp3? Crime is not crime and there are obvious degrees of severity. Equating a murder with someone stealing a handbag is idiotic.
 
Agreed. They are nowhere remotely close to being the same.

I do not think somehow you will like being locked up over a weekend in a cell with 'hardened' criminals after having a drink or 2 too many...

Yeah but if you know that the possibility exists then why do you have that extra drink or two in the first place.

Yes, let the State arrest people, throw them in camps (prisons) and make them do work for you. Utterly brilliant. :rolleyes:
 
Building more jails will just delay more jails from overcrowding.

Why not put a little more effort into the justice system to process court cases, 'cause close to forty percent (yep that's 40%) of people in jail are awaiting trial prisoners.

Join www.standtogether.co.za in demanding a functional justice system.

You guys must be mad. Prisoners build jails? WTF don't you guys know what happens hen a convict in jail built the jail? Haven't you seen prison break?!

On a lighter note about the death penalty: A dead person cannot murder steal rob rape or assualt anyone. The fear of death will stop them from murdering people.
 
iF THATS TRUE WHY ARE THERE STILL MURDERS TAKIN PLACE ALL AROUND THE WORLD(EVEN IN PLACES WHERE THE DEATH PENALTY GETS USED...)

A 16 year old boy who has grown up surrounded by crime and violence on the Cape Flats, is sentanced to 6 months in prison for a petty crime. While in Prison he is de-humanised, sodomised, he is used by one of the Prison Gangs in return for protection. On release, he is more a criminal that when he entered. Now repeat that cycle until he kills someone. Then sentence him to death.

I don't think the death penalty is the answer here.
