Looks like partial app-dev support. Probably with Yalla Apps (bleh) http://www.flickr.com/photos/longzheng/5616198797/in/photostream/
#EDIT#, Nope, full app dev coming to SA! The yellow places are the new ones.

Custom Ringtones also coming :)

I am glad to see the opening the rest of the API's

I really had an issue with not being allowed to access things like camera's and so

Yeah, looks great now. Up there with iOs it seems (Gyros, sockets, etc.)
Love the pinning of pages in an app to the home screen.

HTML5 Audio in Web Sites will be able to play in the background, even after you leave the site (i.e. go to your mail, etc) - very cool.

I watched the mango demo on Engadget's website. Had a look at the comments and there were much more possitive comments than negative ones for a change. I think the more people see the OS with demos like the video shown from MIX11 on the Engadget site the more they will understand what the fuss is about. I also loved that pinning of pages to the home screen demo.

Yeah, it was quite amazing, especially for an Engadget article. Everyone was seriously impressed with it.
Once Mango comes out, there will be feature-bashing on WP7 as it will now offer everything the other do, plus a whole lot of extra stuff, all done in an excellent way.
Plus the fantastic UI :)

Here's a link to that Engadget Video: http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/13/this-is-windows-phone-next-developers-take-notes-video/

Just found that they're updating the hardware specs, here is the latest info: http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/14/microsofts-latest-wp7-chassis-spec-includes-second-gen-snapdrag/

Will allow use of 2nd-gen Snapdragon, Gyro and the soon-coming MSM7x30 chipset. The MSM7x30 supports HDMI output!
They're also dropping the HVGA (480x320) spec (not yet released - lower res) and will only have WVGA (800x480).
Still no mention of front-facing cameras.

This is really GREAT news!!!

We will need it for Skype!!!
Yeah, but it may just be IM and voice for now :/
In that hardware spec session they didn't announce anything about front-facing cameras.
But as far as I remember, there are references to secondary cameras in the undocumented APIs.
We will have to see what happens I guess :)

The marketplace will also be supporting private sections (such as for your company) and closed beta testing.
Games will also now be able to be rated, however that will depend on regions. I guess that in SA we will get all the apps, but probably not too many of the games.
