Hi guys,

I know this is my second thread today, but it's not related to the other one at all.
So on to business, after browsing the net for quite a while I came down to a system that I would really like to have, keep in mind I already have a nice enough keyboard and mouse, so this is for all the other electronics.

Maybe you guys can give me a rating on the system? I'm limited to about R8000 more or less to spend. I'll be using it for designing and gaming, internet. If you can find the same system for a better price let me know, also this is with delivery included!

Keep in mind that this is me trying to squeeze the best I can out of R8000, also I'm buying 2 memory sticks so it'll be a total of 4GB and might just be looking for a CPU cooler also.

Sandy Bridge makes every pc build you can think of irrelevant.
Try Rebeltech. I'm sure you can get a nice i5 2500 for around that price.

As much as I'm an AMD fan, the Phenom II just makes no sense with Sandy Bridge out.

Sandybridge i5 then, I'll go compile a new list. What else would you guys recommend? Stick with AMD graphics or go to Nvidia?

Why does everyone pick the Odin as their PSU? Its rubbish. Pick a Corsair, CM, basically anything else 500W PSU

I currently have the smaller 470W Odin in my system, and this is a system that gets used daily, stays on for atleast 12 hours a day and runs a lot of processes. Also I live in a area where my electricity cuts when there's lightning at a distance, and this little odin is still holding out and working hard.

Gunna build you a system now.. wait for the edit :)

CPU: i5 2300 You really don't need more, but for like ~R70 you can get the 2400

HDD: 1TB WD Blue

TOTAL: R7,731.42

CASE
What eva tickles your fancy...

Now, you can cut down on costs, by going for a cheaper mobo, with the H chipset (Save R200) but meh.
You can get a cheaper GPU, like the VTX3D 6870 @ 1914 which would bring your total price down to R6,414.72 which should leave enough for a screen and case.

You can go i7 if you want.
i7 2600 = R2500
Mobo = R1200
Case = R450
PSU Corsair GS600 = R750
Cooler = R300
DVD Writer = R150
GPU VTX3D = R1900
HDD 1TB = R500
Total = +-R7800
Then R200 for shipping.

EDIT: I left out RAM. You can add another R500 for 2X2GB. Wootware has 2X4GB for R850

Ah sweet, nice one. I'll look at it more closely as soon as I have a moment. Right now I have 1200 software issues to go through. Some developers should never be allowed to do coding of any sort. It's really scary. One bad side to having to test software I guess.

ey what ya trying to say :p (i'm a dev :D)

You should definitely go SB, just make sure it's B3 stepping revision on the motherboard.

Try to squeeze in an ssd if you are looking at designing as well.

Perhaps drop the vga card a little lower to accommodate it. If your aim is mainly gaming with a little designing on the side then don't worry.
