looking at R15 000.
would like 2x gtx560 in sli and a 120gb vertex.
chassis will be the nzxt phantom (white)

so cpu and mb is where i am stuck.

Wait til Bulldozer is released - you then have a better chance IF AMD brings out a killer chip, or if not, it will certainly help lower the prices of the Intel Core series of chips. If you can't wait, the Intel Core i5 2500K/i7 2600K along with a good P67/Z68 chipset is a good deal. Have a look at the Asus P8P67 series of boards, they are regarded quite highly among online forums

Ya i5 2500k is perfect for gaming, and you don't need more than 1600MHz RAM

Have read that for gaming 2500K is as good as 2600K. Anyone have a 2500K and can tell me about performance?

Also, it is worth going to 8GB of 1600 or 4GB 2133?

Al

PC in my sig. works like a charm. Just drop in the GPU's you want.
Overclocking the i5 2500K to 4.5Ghz was incredibly easy and turns this thing into a beast, no need for voltage changes etc. on <= 45 multiplier with these chips, just make sure you add a decent cooler.
One thing though, I *might* suggest that you rather buy a faster single GPU card...

I've been itching for too long lol.
Going to bite the bullet and order an i5 2500K, 8GB G.Skill RAM and 120GB SSD tomorrow along with 2x GTX560 cards :)
Even if AMD is faster I think this system will be adequate for me for now (needs to last 2 years).

Thanks for the help.
