Hey

Any1 saw that telkom advert "go where no south african have gone before " and the rocket launches into space and they show telkom adsl 1024 the thing is i wonder if that rocket is capped to only use 3lt fuel :p

Got to love those telkom adverts

I remember there being something funny in the wording in that ad, something like "fastest broadband available" or "fastest ADSL available" but it didn't say "In South Africa". Somebody that didn't know technology might be left with the impression that South Africa has an ADSL offering that competes with the best people overseas have to offer.

Could it be a case for the ASA?

Well lets see, Mark Shuttelworth has been in space and iburst was the 1st to have 1mb internet - so where are we going where no south African has been before ?

A very dark place with a hard capped 3gb and a brilliant method of getting there. Its like giving a suicidal a gun saying don't pull the trigger too far or we will pull it for you ;)

Thats exactly what one of my friends that dont know of whats availible outside of SA, thought!

that advert is not very new, it was a re-make of one of the other crappy adverst they have made...

just Think of Telkom capped NASA they would only be able to go so far and then have to wait for a month to continue. We would never get to MARS.

No but now the the pay per usage NASA would be able to pay for it's abuse of the service at high costs to the US taxpayer (effecting Africa because of a loss of aid ...)

Instead of "Going where no south african has gone before " how about saving the fuel (Seeing there is a fuel shortage)and start by giving ADSL to all on this planet in S.A.first...Then go and discover ... 'Where No Man Has Been Before'...

I get extremely annoyed when I see that advert on tv. pity the majority of the south african public is not internet literate enough to see through Telkom's lies and manipulations.

I went to the cinema last night and had to suffer through a Telskum ad....the catch phrase being "the evolution of the Internet"

My God, Telkom are at least 6 years behing the world in their offerings and they have the cheek to call it evolution!?

According to Darwin, Telkom would never survive in the natural order!

The silly swine in Telkom's PR dept can't spell! It is meant to be "the devolution of the Internet in South Africa".

Quite possibly but I suspect they actually believe they are offering something usefull. I mean Hitler thought he was progressive didnt he?
