I hope that I don't duplicate a thread.

Yesterday when I logged into the Telkom usage graph it gave me a new, completely different graph than usual. It had many more features and also a tag where one could order bandwidth top up by credit card without getting a new user name.

You can order from 1 to 99 G, but the balance at the end of the month is not carried over to the next month.

Many functions like the usage graphs did not function correctly.

Today when I logged into that site it was back to the old version and showed no usage for yesterday and the day before.

Does anyone have any explanation ?

Yeah heres a prefect explanation... Telkom sucks and they always try to fix fixed things... EPIC FAILCAKE

From document
When TelkomInternet establish their DSL line of products, binary terms such as
Gibibyte and others were not common in the marketplace....

Ummmm what planet were they on at that time?

I wonder if I sell both my kidneys and all my belongings if I'll have enough to buy 99 "Gibi" 's from Telkom?

I'm quite confused by the whole thing because I'm getting emails saying that I've used a ridiculous amount of bandwidth for these first 5 days of the month, and the online tracker seems to reflect what's actually going on.

I'm worried that my account is being abused by somebody else, or that I'm going to get capped because some kind of bug in the tracker. :/

I've already gotten my "Usage at 100%" notice 5 days into the month. I'm on a 3gig cap and it says I've done 5.58 gigs. This isn't right because I know exactly who is and should be on the line and have my wireless encrypted with MAC filtering too. I changed the account's password just to be sure, but it's all very confusing when the new tracker says I haven't done as much as the emails do. Blah!

Me too, I've done 500 mb on the 3rd day when I actually started surfing on the 1st, 1st and 3rd are empty! WTF Telkom? And also, I dont download, I just surf

Hm, according to that document Telkom Internet will be defining a 3GB cap as 3,000,000,000 bytes (3GB) instead of 3,221,225,472 bytes (3GiB), meaning they sell you the same named product (3GB ADSL), but in actual fact you get 7% less usage.

Well here Telkom isn't the only culprit at fault.

Practically every HDD manufacturer in the world quotes capacities like that.
