Save up to 25% with pure-per-second billing on all call types!!!

Telkom introduces SupremeCall - an unique new calling plan that will enable customers to save on their total telecommunication costs. SupremeCall offers customers' savings on all major call types in return for a committed monthly amount of usage for a period of 12 months. Customers will be able to choose calling plans ranging from R1,000 to R20,000 with savings of up to 25% on the inclusive amount of usage purchased.

SupremeCall Benefits

The benefits of this innovative new calling plan are:

One of the main benefits of SupremeCall is the fact that all calls will be billed per second - no more minimum charges per call!
This "Pure-per-second billing" methodology implies that for a 2-second telephone conversation, you will only pay for 2-seconds.
The "Pure-per-second billing" methodology will apply to all local & long distance -, Internet dial-up -, mobile - and international calls.
This will mean savings on all these call types and a combined saving of up to 25% on the inclusive amount of usage purchased.
You will be able to carry-over to the next month any portion of the unused monthly committed spend
No new technologies/routers or additional bandwidth required in order to start saving.
SupremeCall fits all call profiles, regardless of if you only call international, mobile or long distance telephone numbers.
SupremeCall offers tailor-made customised solutions available to customers on a Telkom account level catering for various different levels of spend.
SupremeCall is activated on your Telkom account.
SupremeCall's committed monthly amount of usage will apply to all your voice calls made from all your Telkom line/s (analogue as well as ISDN) on your Telkom account.

SupremeCall - How does it work?

SupremeCall offers customers' savings on all major call types in return for a committed monthly amount of usage for a period of 12 months. Customers will be able to choose between calling plans ranging from R1,000 to R20,000 with savings of up to 25% on the inclusive amount of usage purchased.

The committed monthly amount of usage will be payable as a monthly rental to Telkom at the beginning of each month. This means that the amount due on the first invoice will be higher than normal. Monthly rentals for packages ranges between R1,000 and R20,000 and the cost of calls made will be deducted from this inclusive amount of usage that has been purchased. The cost of these calls will however be calculated on a pure-per-second basis and also at a discounted rate.

In practice, customers will for example purchase a R1,000 package. In return the customer will get R1000 worth of calls on a pure per second basis. If the customer exceeds the R1000 during the month, then normal call rates will apply on the amount in excess of R1000. If the customer only spends R800, then the remaining portion of the R1000 fixed payment will be carried over to the next months.

Telkom will provide customers with a SupremeCall summary on the monthly Telkom invoice. This summary will show customers their monthly savings as well as the carried over unused amount.

OK... next scenario... its a 12Month contract and at the end of the term, the excess funds is not redeemable in to cash... use it or loose it.

Thats what I fill the blanks in to be .. they want contracts so that SNO cant get a grip.

Hmm.. Clearly not meant for the "everyman". I suppose a business could theoretically benefit from an arrangement like this but sheesh it seems like overkill. Especially when you can just use IP phones these days.

I wish they'd give the price somewhere... :) I think it'd be interesting to see what the "special discounted rate" is.

You can't have this with ADSL:

SupremeCall exclusions

* The following call types are excluded from SupremeCall and will be rated as per Telkom's normal call rates - Premium rated calls, Teleconferencing, Operated-assisted calls Service calls, WorldCall, Public Payphones, Carrier Select/Carrier Pre-Select and calls other than those originating and terminating in Telkom's network, excluding international calls.
* SupremeCall cannot be combined with any other calling plan available from Telkom. You will have to decide between SupremeCall and any of the above-mentioned calling plan on your Telkom invoice.

This include the following calling plans:

* Telkom SurfMore
* Telkom Surf AnyTime
* Telkom XtraTime
* Telkom XtraTime Long Distance
* InfinitCall
* Telkom BestFriends
* SilverLine
* DSL Supreme Package
* DSL Premium Package
* Telkom Closer

Oh look .. telkom have learnt from Vodacom and are now starting to produce confusing contracts where the actual costs are incomparable, thereby confusing the customer's ability to recognise a good deal.

Bleugh.

This service proves Telkom is more than able to give the consumer what they want, i.e. per second billing without the so-called "routing fee" of 59c, but they are just unwilling due to their greed.

Easy enough to recognise a good deal - if it is from Telkom, it is NOT.

:D

So if I read that little blurb correctly, all calls must start and end on telkom's networks? So this excludes Cellphones as well? :D

Find these on telkomsa.net (not telkom.co.za) ... and Yup bleugh... Just cut the costs and the bullsh#t. Sit there dreaming up calling plans - these people should do something more useful.

Don't sign contracts with Telkom!!!!.

R1000-R20000/mo - ya just shows you. Telephony should be flat rate of R200/mo for unlimited calls.

I try keep my phone bill down to a minimum R600-R800.

If that much - especially for local calls.

with Telkom closer, our bill at home never goes over R300 for pots :) + ADSL rental :/ + cell calls charges :( which is now showing how expensive it is.

This whole thing looks attractive for our business Telkom account.

Pay Rxyz upfront, and get a lot of calls cheaper with per second billing.

But being Telkom involved in this offer, WHAT IS THE CATCH!

One can trust Telkom only as far as you can chuck a grand piano!

Simple...the 12 months lockin is to prevent businesses moving to SNO Telecom in the short term.
