New Theory Explains Periodic Mass Extinctions

oh my word... ive only been talking about this for ages. I also believe in the link between this and our geo-magnetic reversals that happens (and is currently happening) with our earths molten core (the thing that protects our atmosphere and planet from being blasted away by the sun by producing a magnetosphere.)

It is an interesting theory, but there is quite a bit of skepticism I gather based around the fact that the extinctions aren't really that periodical and that any effect it might have would probably take at least a generation to affect populations where extinctions tend to happen quite rapidly.

Are you interested in extinction wizard?

I am more interested in speciation, though I suppose they are simply two sides of the same coin. I got into this while studying the magnetosphere and reading the stuff by Dr. Alexey Dmitriev
