Hi

I just got a new 4 MB ADSL line, from day one it was loosing sync. I have reported it but im still waiting for someone to come out. It seems to do it more at night and there is definitely a slight noise on the line. Im still reading about some interesting topics on the site but thought I would post a screenshot and get some feedback from you guys :D

Download speed is only about 2.1 Mbs it was 3.85 on the first day :wtf:

SNR:

6dB or below is very bad and will experience no synch or intermittent synch problems
7dB-10dB is fair but does not leave much room for variances in conditions
11dB-20dB is good with little or no sync problems
20dB-28dB is excellent
29dB or above is outstanding

Attenuation:

20dB and below is outstanding
20dB-30dB is excellent
30dB-40dB is very good
40dB-50dB is good
50dB-60dB is poor and may experience connectivity issues
60dB or above is bad and will experience connectivity issues

You def have issues on your line, log a call with Telkom at 10210. Have you replaced your filters?
 
I just got a new filter going to install it when I get home.

I logged a call and they have phoned me twice asking if the line is working, I told them it still disconnects they said they will send someone.

Will give an update after I replace filter im also going to relocate any wires that might be to close to power cabling
 
Hi, what ISP are you using? and what package?
 
Re routed the wires and installed a new filter. Did a speed test will have to see if it still disconnects there does not seem to be a big change in signal attenuation it does seem to have decreased by .5



Also noticed the RX errors on ADSL




 
I'm happy with the speed, the problem is still there where it just randomly disconnects so I will just wait till they eventually come and check the line

Update

Tech came out sorted noise on line. During the day its fine at night it just goes off and on about every 15 to 20 min.

Upgraded firmware still no change :mad:

Can be the router, I had such problem, only a interval of 5-10min daily. I lose DNS and Internet connection.
That 1ms ping though! :p
 
Ping is back to 15ms I dont know how that works lol

I see it is set to auto anything else before I phone them again ?
