I thought that this question might suit into this sub-fourm but I couldn't a thread yet to answer this question.

I am a complete newbie to this device from some articles and thread that I have read, I some how I am getting an impression that telkom in Beloni has lied to me about ADSL connection and cap issue.

I was told that the cap only applied to downloading but now somehow I am getting an impression that it would also apply to normal internet usage such as interneting gaming and web surfing. If that is so, does that mean, I would use up my small 3gb cap much faster with 1024kps line rather than 512kps.

I am really in confusion about this.

And this thing about ISP with 30gb as being a hoax, what is actually going on. If the first question answer is true then it means that I would really need a 30gb account and Imaginet seems to be quite good ISP with that but now, with this hoax issue. Are these companies really supplying 30gb cap account?

I think I will be in the shock of my life if I didn't come to MyADSL and finding out until then that Telkom have lied in about a week's time when my line would be fully up.

All usage count towards the cap, both sending and receiving data. All forms of usage counts, including the ones you listed. And yes, one can burn through a 3GB account in a couple of hours on a 1024 line.

The 30GB accounts are not a hoax. They are now just very expensive after Telkom changed how they charged for ADSL bandwidth. Note, 3GB can actually go pretty far, depending on what you do with it. I have a 4GB account on a 1024 line and I seldom use more than 3GB of that in a month.
