New to iPhone (Help/Advice)

Hi,

I just got my iPhone 4s from Vodacom. I had a blackberry before. Can the guys/girls with iPhones please give me some advice on setup or the do's & dont's:

Keep in mind:-
1) Prolong Battery Life
2) Minimise data usage

Step 1, jailbreak the little mofo

With jailbroken phone, load something like auto 3G, this enables 3G only when you unlock the phone and the rest of the time puts it to edge.
load SBsettings and also removeBG (remove background). this kills all background apps with one icon push.
Disable Push on emails.
Disable 3G if you are not using data - your battery will almost last a week on Edge
Enable Auto adjust for the screen brightness.

thats the basics i can think of right off the bat
