I want to setup a home network but I don't want it to be difficult or slow.

An office closed down and I was given the following stuff.

Two TP link routers "access points"
One TP link router "LTE 4G"
One TP Link Network switch.

I did do a factory reset on all the wireless routers and configured them as access points. The two Access points is connected via cable to the LTE router. I dedicated the one for phones the other for smart devices. The main LTE router is reserved for the family computer and Laptop.

There is a total of 10 phones in our home, 1 Tablet, 2 computers, 1 TV box and 1 laser printer. My fibre is scheduled to be installed I want to then keep the LTE for the phones and Tablet and use the Fibre for the computers and TV.

I know nothing when it comes to computers, networks and all this stuff. Right now the net is fast enough but when we stream or chat to family most of the phones has no internet. I am hoping fibre will solve this.

My Telkom connects on a good day at 20Mbs up and 18Mbs down. The Fibre will be 20Mbs up/down. It is what I can afford right now.

I got all the routers and stuff for free so I am trying to make do with what I have. I also have one Huawei router but I stopped using it. It loses signal all the time.

I don't know what router the fibre people are going to give me.

I'm not sure that you'll experience better internet by switching to Fibre (though it is likely)... your better bet would be to investigate QoS on the TPLink devices and try portion out your link speed to the devices, or give the phones priority.

Fibre will be far more stable than LTE, so it should definitely make a difference.
QoS, like Toxic said, would be your best option for your mobile devices. The TV and PC will be fine with the fibre

Who did you go with?

By the way, I am somewhat surprised that the @cavedog has not yet helped out the @catdog ...
Vodacom Fibre.

I will watch a few videos on this.

What Telkom does is with its uncap they actually limit my speed in the middle of the month due to the "fair use policy" that is my main reason for fibre.
Maybe AP's are set to give out DHCP too.

That would make 3 DHCP servers on 1 network.
No clue what this is???

Wait for the fibre to be installed. From the fibre router connect the two access points via network cable to where you want them. Convert the Telkom contract to prepaid and run all the internet on the fibre. Best to keep all your devices on one network. As for the DHCP stuff that simply gives each device an address on the network, you want to make sure that the access points doesn't give out addresses only one device namely the fibre router in your case.

Doesn’t want to complicate it…then complicates it as much as humanly possible.

Put everything on one single network, no need for all this silly segregation.

Don’t “dedicate” APs to devices. Rather use them to spread your network wider and load balance it all with the same SSID and a single network.

There should be no reason your phones lose internet because you stream. Likely that’s something broken because it’s been over complicated.

Single router, single internet connection, single DHCP server and single wireless connection with one SSID.

Unless those “routers” have a dedicated Access Point mode don’t use them on your network unless you really understand what you doing. The fibre will likely come with a far better more modern device that can do a better job than all this free stuff by itself.

If I recall, those TP link AP's only have 100meg ports and are not gigabit, so if you get 200 Meg fibre you are losing 50% of your speed because of those AP's.

Best my money can get is 20Mb so I don't think it is a problem for now. But not going to argue 200Mbs internet is a nice problem to have.
