I have just bought a BB 9860 and whenever I have the charger plugged in, it goes haywire and does its own thing of rapidly going from one item to the next and sends goobly gob to all my contacts.
It is so fast that I cannot stop it. When I unplug it, then it is OK.
Bought this from BidorBuy.

Is it a Blackberry branded charger? I have heard of this happening with generic usb chargers.

Built in Hungary and shipped with a small generic charger that the 9860 would not recognize. Plugged in my BB 9300 charger and same thing. Would not recognize it. My 9300 works with both chargers.
Bought a higher wattage genuine BB charger and it charges great while I am not in any Network site as WhatsApp, Emails or Dialer. If I do go to one of the 3 it gets a mind of it's own and sends gobbly geek messages to my contacts or dials my contacts automatically.
I have the sensitivity of the touch screen and scroll wheel on the lowest setting now and so far so good.

Good luck, that sounds like a serious problem. Hope the phone behaves itself now.

Phone nuked itself. It is dead now after 6 days. Dead screen and red light on. Downloaded BB OS 7.1.0 but even though I clicked on "NEXT" after "Unknown Device" showed up and "Software not found" came up.
Deleted the software from "Control Panel" but it still shows up when I go to "Programmes-Common Files-Research In Motion.
Control Panel shows its gone but it is still there.

New phone nuked. Sent it to BerryFix and they said the main board has a major component failure and is Beyond Economical Repair.
Now I must pay R150 for labour or they will keep it for the parts.
I am now sure that they want the phone for resale and think I am stupid enough to do so.
There are many BB repair websites that state that they can fix the phone even from water damage. Beware. They are all the same as the dingy corner shop cellphone shops. They cannot do repairs to component level.
They will all say that the phone is BER. Beyond Economical Repair. A standard response.

Now you know why the seller got rid of it. That's the risk of buying without a warranty.
