New tower

Hi

Just drove past kolnicks building in Diep River (Cape Town) and there were 3 guys working around a iburst mast its like 500m from my house I'm currently on the Plumstead tower don't see it on uTraceStar yet. any know when it will be live?

There was a new one in Tokai last week as well. Hopefully Kolnicks will be better than Plumstead for me, it should be...

Hmm I'm interested now, might go look, where exactly is it, on top of Kolnicks?

Also, try phoning iBurst and enquiring about it, someone might know, otherwise we'll have to wait until it's announced on the website, but I'll be checking UTTracestar..

At the lights on Princess Vlei and De Vaal RD, there is a building behind kolnicks with SHERATON on the side. One one end of the building is a cell phone cluster on the other is a iburst mast. iburst mast is easy to identify its a tall one in the middel with a whole bunch arranged around it.

New Diep River tower is ID 12, connected but so uber slow !!! only getting about 10kbps?

Great.. but weird? It might only be up for testing?

A friend very close to the tower got his best speed yet of 120KB on rapidshare last night (thats single threaded) so that sounds weird, I'll check out UTTracestar later.

EDIT: Btw what was your signal strength like?

Moved my modem around eventually go -81db steady did another speed test and all looks good its the inernational that so slow! anyhoo will no matter after Monday Telkom confirmed my WiMax connection will be installed Monday at 10am last night, yay!
