New Towers....

Not sure if anyone has picked up on this yet, but we apparently have a whole load of new towers.

"Pinetown, Faerie Glen, Lynnwood, Constantia Kloof, Table View, Blairgowrie, Epsom Downs go live!"

Now they just need some more international bandwidth to cope with all the new towers

So do you think the new towers could cause a slowdown, or will WBS purchase extra bandwidth for each tower to ensure they work properly?

And some new towers in Cape Town would be appreciated, JHB is covered amazingly compared to CPT.

hahaha, actually the power cuts have stopped for a few days now for me at least. And of course we need bandwidth!

They are rolling out 2 - 3 base stations per week.

It looks like they are consolidating in JHB first and then move on to other cities [CT & DBN]

Well I havent seen 2-3 a week yet, they just rolled out a few at once that they were obviously working on for a while. Now its been a week or two and nothing..

I have a feeling with all these new towers there maybe a 2Mbps connection in the pipeline?

Hasn't that been in pipeline for a while? I hope it's coming soon though, just cause it will be nice to have faster internet than anyone else again. Even if you cant really use it any more than a 1mb/s connection.

Yep, the Pinetown base station is atop Old Mutual Towers.
