New Trendnet Modem. Cant connect to internet

Help.

i have signed up with WebAfrica and they have been on line with me for 45 min trying to get my modem to connect to my adsl line. Nothing works. The internet light stays red.

Is it something simple and obvious ??

We have rest modem etc. Nothing helps.

red light usually means incorrect username or password. double check those that WA gave you. also make sure your VPI and VCI settings are 8 and 35 respectively. I have seen that an error there can affect it and cause the internet light to turn red

Change these settings:
VPI >>> 8
VCI >>> 35

And try the Telkom guest account - google for relevant instructions

Like havoc above, are you VPI and VCI settings correct? Also make sure encapsulation is LLC/Snap-Bridge.
