New TV - who doesn't ask for a licence

Online shops. None. All ask for a license.

So look at Marketplace, Hacked Gumtree, Facebook, Carbonite... etc. etc.

Or do the right thing and get a TV license.

I bought via Takealot before and was never asked, but apparently they do now.

I've heard that if you smile and ask the sales person in a physical store they will use there's, they after the com.

Which shops don't ask for a TV licence when you buy a TV ?

Name and shame the ones who do here... PM me the details of the ones who don't care.

I assume online is the easiest way as they would have to jump though hoops to check the licence ?

Legally required, but hardly the right thing. It's legalized theft and the money just goes to keep ANC cadres in the luxury to which they've become accustomed.

Pakistani's.
There's a mobile shop near me run by Pakistani's too I went and bought a sim card, pulled out my proof of residence and Id and he's like "no no, SIM already registar just use"

My company is registered with SABC as a distributor even though we don't distribute TV's i needed it to actually buy them in bulk from a local distributor for services we provide.

Anyhoo, I get a mail once a month from SABC warning me with red writing and big bold fonts that if we sold TV's to end users and did not report the sales to SABC with the user's ID number, name and surname - we could be fined up to R1M .... jail time... etc etc.

So yeah, they do want stores to report back to them on sales it seems.

That happened to me at Vodacom.
