I've just got my new TyTN II :D

Judging from the manual, it's awesome! Everything that I wished they'd done better in the TyTN I has been fixed :D

But now, before I start getting it all set up with my data, I have a couple of questions (which may have been answered here and there around the forum, but I figured it might be useful to get it all in one place):

1) Can I copy my contacts, notes, Word files, photos, tasklist, etc over to the II from the I?
2) Before I do that, is there anything I should do? Like, install Windows Mobile 6.1 (what does it change? I like the home screen as it is; does 6.1 improve it or change it?). I've heard it can be a bit slow - is there a new rom that I should flash it to, and would that be before or after installing 6.1?
3) Are there any other apps I should install? (Like Wakeup Tweak is essential on the I for the alarms to work properly)
4) Are the any cool apps you'd recommend?

Lekker! How's it doing performance-wise? Is it fast? Are you experiencing any of the problems that the other users were reporting?

Still busy charging it, so I haven't tried it out yet.

I'll report back once I've given it a thorough workout tonight!

There was a TyTN thread once upon a time and you could get all the help you need from there. Just hit yo search button.

Great phone by the way, but me is still waiting for the E71!!!

Register the phone at HTC-Club, then you can access the WM 6.1 upgrade.

Try the Kaiser-Tweak at XDA Developers and HTC Customize.

As I think I mentioned elsewhere, overall I don't have a problem with the speed. Yes, it's not blindingly fast, but it's not noticeably slow either. Without doing a time test, I'd figure it handles about the same as my TyTN.

Two things that I have noticed are slow, though: when sliding the screen open, it takes a bit longer than I'd expect to change the screen orientation. And starting MSWord is painful (although I suspect this more due to the app than the device) - it seems to do some sort of initialisation every time you open the app or a doc, as you get a progress bar making its way across the screen which has to complete before you can do anything. Not that I really use it much anyway, but the balance has now definitely shifted towards notes rather than word docs for entering info.

to transfer contacts from I to II use JEYO to backup and restore

Otherwise, the office files should be stored to your storage card
