Heard on 702 that a new amendment act was signed by Zuma which will increase UIF benefits.

Instead of UIF being only paid out for a max 238 days (34 weeks), it will now pay out for a max 365 days (52 weeks).

Woman on maternity leave will now be paid 66% instead of 45%, and it wouldn't count against their normal UIF benefits anymore.

Is there still a cap on the salary for maternity payout calculation?
 
Wife is currently doing a UIF maternity claim, been told by the department that is not loaded on their systems as yet
