New unshaped solution?

Not actually its cause from here it goes via optial fibre cable straight to the states and gets diverted from there, hence that latency would be lower to the states than to Europe. I read somewhere on Neotels site that their latency to the states is 75ms. I will try find the page again and post it.

And there I was thinking the Fibre goes to Sesimbra, Portugal then to the states and the rest of Europe via the VSNL network...
Latency to Europe should be faster then US then, since US is EU latency plus EU to US. Or am I wrong?

Ah went to your link, If I understand the above correctly.

60 ms for anywhere in South Africa

200 ms to Europe
60 ms from the europe landing to any other place in europe (i.e. 200 ms +60ms from SA to EU)

300 ms to the trans atlantic network (US)
65ms from trans atlantic landing station to anywhere else in the US (i.e. 300 ms + 65 ms from SA to US(anywhere))

The values is ofc the maximum latency. So to Europe wow servers it will not be more than 260ms and to US wow servers no more than 365ms.

I can live with either

one more edit.... Seems the latency stated is for the round trip! so expect even faster for normal. The values however is pretty much the same as the Saix ones so there is no real upgrade speed boost for us. Maybe just another provider to choose from if the other are down... If the SAT3 is down we are cut off still

Oh btw, I got the fibre connection and I gts I am happy with it, there is a slight improvement being better than unshaped WA. Average latency 500-600ms to US servers.

registry changes, do tell

Im on unshaped with 400ms on verizon. would love to see it drop a bit, if the registry changes help at all

Only available on XP im afraid.
and it helps a lot, was raiding kara last night with latency of between 230ms-320ms.
There is a thread about the registry hack *somewhere*, im sure someone will paste the url
