My iBurst account was activated on Friday and I must say that I am very pleased with the connection. I played Guild wars and City of Heroes on the American servers for about 12 hours over the weekend and the connection performed perfectly.
CoH's ingame latency graph showed a ping ranging between 480 and 530, which is about the same as what my old ADSL line gave. The iBurst graph was a bit more jagged than what ADSL showed, but the gameplay was very smooth.
One thing that made me very happy was that the connection stayed the same throughout the whole of Saturday. On my old ADSL line MMORPGs were unplayable between 12 and 2 on a Saturday afternoon due to packet errors.
I had to do a fresh Guild Wars install using just the Factions CDs. The average speed for the downloads was around 35KB/s and I saw a lot of activity around 75KB/s. I didn't do any PvP, but the PvE game worked well.
I'm about 1.2-1.5 kilometers from the new Garsfontein tower, and there are 3 or 4 houses blocking my LoS across a shallow valley. I don't use an antenna, and the modem is on the desk next to my PC, in front of a window facing the tower. iBurst's coverage map shows me as being in the extreme outdoor area, so I guess the map is almost useless.
