...and it's fabulous!

Love the new funky home screen & the extra options....limit CPU when doing scan, remove files after a month. Brilliant!

Thank you for the freebie Microsoft!!

Are you talking about version 2?

That has been out since the 16th of December! ;)

Yep, that's the one!

But I agree with you... it's awesome hey!

Eish. Now why did Windows Update only tell me about it now? Maybe cos I'm running 64-bit Windows 7? Well, Task Manager is telling me that it's a proper 64-bit. Nice.

I dunno why it is taking so long for some people... but you can download the updated version from their website and install it.

The best feature about MSE2 is that it will now install on Win 2008 server.

Windows Update only notified me last night - and Gary said it was already out in December?

Really?
Cause Microsoft's site says nothing about this.

Find out what you need to know about installing and running Microsoft Security Essentials.
Minimum system requirements for Microsoft Security Essentials

Operating System: Genuine Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3); Windows Vista (Gold, Service Pack 1, or Service Pack 2); Windows 7

Strange, indeed. I installed mine in december with update on home PC, but only received update notification on laptop today.
But does not matter MSE still worked 100% without update & im sure it will work even better with new version ;)
