New Vodacom "bonus" scam

Firstly, here's the SMS we got this morning;
"To Get R10 bonus Airtime. Recharge with R5 before 22/03/2020 23:59."

So I put in R10 (Standard Bank doesn't allow less), which was accepted, and got this message back;
"Congrats. You've achieved the goal for R10 Bonus Airtime valid until 16/03/2020 23:59. Enjoy!"

Soooo.... where did Vodacom initially let us know that the bonus airtime would be time limited?? Or where did it instead mention that specific T&Cs apply??

Bullkrap Vodacom!! Someone who's got the time and resources to do so should sue your asss!!!
This is clearly false advertising, and as the extra transfer due to this "offer" cost me and I won't be using the bonus in time, you have now cost me money!!

I think all their "specials" are for 1 day only. My SMS's usually include the word "today".

Fully agree. Usually they offer rubbish bonuses (for most users) that only work between midnight and sunrise, so I thought they were giving something decent for once...

Unless they specifically tell you otherwise, you can bet that anything networks give for "free" expires quicker than it can be used. They will have it somewhere in the T&C that you are supposed to read before purchasing. It sucks, but this is rip-off SA.

Rule of thumb:
If the network is giving something for free, there will always be a catch.
