In the Sunday Times today :

If you have your own tablet or iPad :
* 1GB Data per month
* Free SIM and Connection
* R199 per month for 24 months.

IMHO this is a bit of an insult, it costs more than VC Prepaid (if you take 2GB every second month = R389/2 = R194.50 per month), and considerably more than Cell C 3G.

And even if you do go for VC Prepaid with only a small cost advantage, you are not locked into a two year contract that will probably burn your ring within a relatively short period as the market becomes more competitive. Not to mention not being burned for out-of-bundle charges !

Any other views on this ?

Vodacom must be run by idiots. I mean seriously, why would they create a contract that has absolutely no benefit over prepaid yet costs much more? Utter stupidity, must be some pathetic greedy attempt to con some people who sign the contract without doing proper research or who just aren't smart about this sort of thing.

I see you point about it not really being cheaper then pre-paid. But even then, why are they selling this "for Tablet devices"

I hope this doesnt mean the average customer cannot get the same deal if they wanted a data bundle for using with their pc or phone.
 
Oh, and I forgot to mention that a 2GB prepaid every second month gives you 2.3GB, so it's even cheaper !
 
And there's another thread where people want careers with this cunch of bunts! Understandably so - they're milking the morons!

Good place to work - they're generating huge amounts of cash and can afford nice perks, which might well include free data...

Of course, that's if you can live with your conscience, not to mention being ostracised at social functions.
