Heya,

I just finished setting up a new site called www.wardriving.co.za
It is very much in beta stage, and is a work in progress. We need help from people in different areas in SA. We are currently mapping parts of the Eastern Cape. Hopefully we can get some data from People in JHB/CT/DBN to help grow this project.

You will need Google Earth to checkout the wifi hotspots. The site tells you how to go about getting plugged in etc.

Some feedback would be appreciated. :p

k the kmz says it has errors or sumthing?

fetching of data failed - u might wanna sort it out

very cool idea though - and with the high cost of bandwidth in sa people are still leaving there AP's unprotected.

Weird...

Weird, works fine here.
Ok I made it a .kml now, and removed the space (%20) should help a bit.

The .kml file just shows you the description and shortcut,

Code:
cat Wardriving.kml
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<kml xmlns="http://earth.google.com/kml/2.1">
<NetworkLink>
        <name>Wardriving ZA</name>
        <open>1</open>
        <description>Wardriving South Africa. Checkout our website for updates and details.</description>
        <Url>
                <href>http://www.wardriving.co.za/gps/getmap.php</href>
        </Url>
</NetworkLink>
</kml>

SAIX is caching the pages, should update in a couple of hours.
