New Webafrica banners

I have a right to complain wherever I so please, mate. If you take issue with my posts, then put me on your ignore list. Problem solved.

Again, resorting to an immature response is a knee-jerk reaction to not being able to debate the point. Let's laugh at whoever thinks a naked baby covered in vernix is an inappropriate ad, because we don't really have a good counter-argument about why exactly the banner must be a naked baby covered in vernix when we're advertising domain prices.

I didn't laugh, I pointed out that God (or whatever deity you praise) gave you freedom of choice. If you don't like a particular company's advertisement campaign, then go to (one of) their competitors?

/edit They're not advertising domain prices, they're advertising email, and the point of the advert is "we all need to start somewhere". People that don't have email yet, well, are n00bs. Babies are n00bs. We all have to start somewhere.

Now I'm offended by your name, please change it. I don't like to look at it.

I'll tackle the tiny amount of non-absurdum in your post. Why is the baby covered in vernix more appropriate than any other picture indicating a start or beginning? Why the vernix, why not just a baby? Why not a sperm cell or egg? Why not a fluffy duckling next to its egg of origin?

Is the ad campaign for a supposedly professional IT company about (a bit of) shock value?

Well, why not? Who says other people (like you) won't get offended over a sperm cell? What difference does it make in your life? It's actually very clever. I know, next time something offends you, just look away.

I'll remember that at the next murder or rape I witness, thank you.

EDIT: What you don't seem to realise is you're not my customer and I'm not yours. We don't need to care about the other's opinions. Webafrica, however, should care what their customers think. If customers don't like their ads (like the Steve Jobs one which was apparently removed) they actually have to do something about it.

There is an ugly new notion in today's society where the privileged classes believe no-one needs to be offended about anything because of their own posh, privileged positions. People have every right to be offended about anything that bothers them. If anyone is offended enough to send an email to Webafrica, then they have every right. Clearly that has already happened with the Jobs ad. Otherwise, anyone can publicly state (like myself) that I would object to the ads if asked, for my own personal reasons. You don't need to care, WA does.

I still see it. Its not removed. That said, good advertising is not about whether you like it or not, but whether it keeps people talking about the brand or not. Looks to be working no?

Somebody said on page 1 that the banners were changed. I presumed it was the Jobs one as the baby one was still there.
