New Wifi router reccomendation

Hi,

I currently have a D-Link DIR 825 (free router from Afrihost). With fibre speed upgrades coming, i am keen to get a better router.

Have low signal in 2 outer corners of the house - sometime becomes no signal in those spots. Line is currently 50mbps will be upgraded to 100mbps.

Any thoughts on what to move up to - nothing that would break the bank?

I need noob friendly stuff! Lol, only because i dont have time to tinker - you know how the family get, they want to watch their Netflix immediately!

Maybe to add, i have a lot of devices connecting to the router. At least 4 cell phones, 3 tvs (1 via cable), DSTV (via cable), security system (via cable), 3 laptops.

Unifi will take you much more than 2k at current prices and you'll need to factor in POE adaptors or switches as well

I am leaning towards that Huawei AX3...seems like if I need to add more units to create mesh it's easy and cheap (R1000 per device from afrihost).

Might probably just need 1 if the range is better then the D-link DIR-825

If you only need more range, and are happy with the DIR-825, you can use another one as a repeater for the poor spots.

That's what I did for the other wing of my house.

I have a spare one if you want to do buy it.

I believe a repeater is not as great as mesh? And the AX3 can do mesh? Maybe i am wrong, i dont understand these things.

I have 2xAX3’s and they work great for wireless.

About my only issue with the router is no ability to set an internal DNS server as part of DHCP.

They have many many models. Best to look at the ASUS RT AX range. RT AX56U is avery good one and won many awards. R2500 incl VAT
